Report in Brief
Staying competitive in a data-driven world means making decisions and actions incredibly fast. In my talk, I will firstly give an introduction to the IoT Innovation Lab at UTS including its aim, infrastructure, R&D capabilities and the partnership with industry in the area of AI based streaming data processing for IoT applications. In the second part, I will talk about the aged care and our research on human activities recognition through non-invasive mmWave Radar and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) for aged care.
About the Speaker
Dr Gengfa Fang is the founding Director of the IoT Innovation Lab at UTS, which is through the world first tri-party partnership between UTS and Cisco and SAS. Dr Fang leads his team to conduct research on applying AI to solve big problems in energy and utilities, smart cities and digital health. Dr Fang and his team have built the industrial-standard state-of-art edge-to-enterprise IoT streaming data processing research platform worthy of $4.0+Million from SAS and Cisco. His research has been supported by Intel, Cisco, SAS and Huawei in IoT, AI and data analytics and 5G. Dr Fang received his BS, MS and PhD from Jilin University, Zhejiang University and Chinese Academy of Sciences accordingly.
